Cabbage Casserole

Casserole |
1 | Lb. | Ground beef |
1 | Lb. | Jimmy Dean hot sausage |
2 | Medium | Onions, chopped |
1 | Rib | Celery, chopped |
1 | Large | Bell Pepper, chopped |
1 | Can | Rotelle tomato |
1 | Dash | Chili powder |
1 | Head | Cabbage, chopped |
1/4 | Cup | Water |
1 | Cup | Raw rice |
- Brown ground meat, sausage and seasonings.
- Add diced cabbage and 1/4 cup water.
- Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Add raw rice, mix well.
- Add cheese sauce.
- Bake at 350degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
Cheese Sauce |
1/2 | Stick | Margarine |
1 | Cup | Milk |
1 | Tbsp. | Flour |
4-8 | Slices | American cheese |

- Put all ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Heat over medium-low heat.
- Stir until it thickens.
- Pour over above casserole.
YIELD:8 servings
