This is one I made when my kids were little - had to put the peppers and onions thru a "puree" in the blender to hide them.
Then later there was a "sloppy joe mix" that you added to hamburger mix but I never used it....
1 | lb | Ground beef |
1/2 | C | Chopped green bell pepper |
1 | med | Onion -- chopped |
1 | tbsp | Brown sugar |
1 | tsp | Dry mustard |
1/4 | tsp | Salt |
1/8 | tsp | Pepper |
1 | 8 oz. can | Tomato sauce |
1/2 | C | Ketchup |
1 | tbsp | Worcestershire sauce |
1 | tbsp | Vinegar |
6 | Sandwich buns |
In large skillet, brown ground beef, green bell pepper, and onion; drain well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover, simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated. Serve on buns.
