Lemon Cinnamon Sauce
From the Kitchen of: Pepper
Comment: A spicy sauce is certain to give zest to a plain dessert. Try it also on leftover plain cake and cottage or steamed puddings.
1 | cup | sugar |
3 | tbsp | flour |
1-1/2 | cup | boiling water |
3 | tbsp | lemon juice |
1 | tsp. | grated lemon rind

1 | tsp | cinnamon |
1/2 | tsp | salt |

- Mix sugar and flour together in a small saucepan. Gradually stir in boiling water.
- Cook until smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Blend lemon juice and rind, cinnamon and salt together and add to sauce.
- Serve hot or cold over pound cake, bread pudding or angelfood cake.
Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce.
