Butterscotch Sauce II

Comments: Very good over Ice Cream, pound cake or angel food cake
3/4 | cup | sugar |
1/3 | cup | margarine or butter |
1/3 | cup | buttermilk |
2 | teas | Light corn syrup |
1/4 | tea | baking soda |
1 | tbl | rum or 1 tea. rum flavoring, if desired |
- Heat all ingredients except rum to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil 5 minutes, stirring frequently; remove from heat.
- Stir in rum; cool completely.
- Refrigerate any remaining sauce.
