3 | heaping | cups snitz (dried apple slices) |
1 | cup | sugar |
2 | tbsp. | lemon juice |
½ | tsp. | cinnamon (optional) |
2 | unbaked | 9-inch double pie shells |
Cover snitz with water and let soak overnight. Cook just until soft; then force through a sieve. To that mixture add the sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon, if desired.
Pour into two unbaked pie shells. Cover with a top crust. Seal edges. Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes, then at 350°F for 30 minutes.
