Buttermilk Pecan Pie

Haven't tried this one yet, but I intend to do so during the holidays.
3 | tbsp. | all-purpose flour |
¼ | tsp. | salt |
½ | c. | butter |
2 | c. | sugar |
2 | tsp. | vanilla |
3 | | eggs |
1 | c. | buttermilk |
½ | c. | coarsely chopped pecans |
1 | | unbaked pie shell - 9 inch. |
| | whipped cream and pecans for garnish |
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Mix flour and salt in small bowl.
- Beat butter in bowl until smooth and creamy. Add sugar, ½ cup at a time, beating until fluffy. 2 minutes. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
- Stir flour mixture into butter mixture. Stir in buttermilk.
- Sprinkle pecans over bottom of pie shell. Pour in buttermilk filling. Bake in 350° oven for 1½ hours or until set. If crust browns too quickly, cover with aluminum foil. Cool on wire rack.
- Garnish with whipped cream and pecans if desired.
