Fully ripe peaches

Peel of 1 orange, shredded very fine

Wash peaches, and remove stems, skins, pits, and bad spots. Chop or grind them up fine.
Remove peel and seeds from oranges. Leave some of the white rind on the oranges, as it contains much of the pectin of the fruit. Chop or grind the oranges up fine.
Measure 5 cups peaches and 1 cup oranges into kettle and add the remaining ingredients. Stir to mix thoroughly.
Bring to a boil rapidly over high heat, stirring constantly. Boil until the mixture thickens, or until it reachs 9°F. above the boiling point of water. Remove from heat and skim off the foam.
Ladle into hot, sterilized canning jars, leaving 1/4 inch headroom, and seal. Process in a boiling-water bath for 15 minutes.
