Apple Preserves
From the Kitchen of: Pepper
2 | C | Sugar |
1 | C | Water |
4 | C | Thinly sliced apples |
- In large saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring the mixture to a
boil, stirring constantly, until it reaches the hard ball stage (a hard
ball forms when a small quantity of syrup is dropped into cold water).
Reduce heat and stir in apples. Stirring constantly, simmer mixture
until apples are transparent.
- Pour into 1/2 pint jars leaving 1/2 inch head space. Process 5 minutes in a boiling water bath.
Makes 6 half pints.
