From the Kitchen of: KAB-5
My mother made this for my sister and myself when we were little
1 | lb. | Hamburger |
1 | med. | Onion, chopped |
1 | Green Bell Pepper, chopped | |
1 | c. | sliced mushrooms(optional) |
2 | reg.cans | chopped tomatoes - do not drain |
1/2 | tsp. | garlic powder |
2 | Tbsp. | Sugar (yes - 2!!) |
1 | Tbsp. | Sweet Dried Basil |
1 | c. | water |
3/4 | pkg. | Kluski or Amish style Egg Noodles |
Sauté' hamburger, onion, pepper and mushrooms together until beef is browned. I even rinse it to remove all of the fat. Stir in the tomatoes, garlic powder, sugar, sweet basil and water. Add all to the package of noodles that have already been cooked. Allow to sit for a bit to absorb some of the liquid. Season with salt and pepper. This is even better the next day or made early in the day and reheated. My family asks for this often.
