Deviled Swiss Steak
From the Kitchen of: Pepper
Serves 4
2 | tbls. | all purpose flour |
1 | tbls. | dry mustard |
1/2 | tsp. | black pepper |
1-1/2 to 2 | lb. | round steak |
2 | tbls. | olive oil |
1 | tbl. | Worcestershire Sauce

1 | cup | beef broth |
1/2 | lb. | fresh mushrooms, sliced |

Mix flour, mustard, and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Pound the mixture into both sides
of the steak.
- Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meat in the oil.
Add the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth to the steaks, reduce the heat, and simmer for about
2 1/2 hours. Make sure to check the steaks occasionally to coat with sauce and turn.
- Add the mushrooms and simmer for an additional 1/2 hour. Serve warm, with plain egg
noodles or mashed potatoes.
