Easy and good. Great way to feed a crowd during the holidays.
1 | lb | lean bacon, cooked and crumbled |
10 | slices | white bread, buttered (Iron Kids is best) |
5 | large | eggs |
2-1/2 | cups | milk |
2 | cloves | garlic, crushed |
1 | small | onion, finely chopped |
1 | cup | extra sharp Cheddar cheese |
salt and pepper to taste |
A side dish of fresh fruit is very good with this bread pudding.
If desired, you can prepare the ingredients the night before and store in the refrigerator until ready to assemble the bread pudding. This is a very convenient way to prepare for a large crowd. Simply make enough ingredients to make two bread puddings at once. Cook two bread puddings at the same time. Most ovens will accommodate two large baking dishes.
