Chocolate Egg Custard

Vanilla
In a heavy saucepan cook the milk and chocolate pieces over low heat until chocolate melts, cool slightly.
Mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla and gradually stir into the chocolate mixture.
Beat until well blended.
Place six 8-ounce custard cups in a 13x9x2 inch pan.
Pour hot water in pan to depth of 1 inch.
Bake in 325 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Chill, then invert into serving dishes.
Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
