I could never find a recipe that was simple to make when we had company during the holidays and found this one was good enough for a champagne breakfast.
1 lb (500g) | Bulk sausage, sliced in 1/4" rounds and fried | |
6 | slices | White bread, cubed |
1/2 lb (250g) | Jarlsberg cheese, grated | |
3 | Eggs | |
1 | pt (2 C) | Half & half, or full fat milk |
1/4 | tsp | Dried oregano |
pinch | Garlic powder | |
1/2 | tsp | Dry mustard |
Salt and pepper, to taste | ||
Grated Parmesan cheese |
NOTE: This dish is very easy to make, especially as all the preparation is done the night before. The taste can be "dressed up" or down and it is not only good for breakfasts, but is equally good for light luncheons and suppers.
