Cheese Fluff
From the Kitchen of: Kathleen
This is a very old recipe from my mother's recipe box. Easy and good.
1 | cup | cracker crumbs |
1 | cup | grated Cheddar cheese (I use white extra sharpe) |
1 | cup | milk, skim is all right |
4 | large | eggs, separated |
| | salt and pepper to taste |
- Preheat oven to 375 F
- Lightly grease a medium size baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks then add milk and cracker crumbs.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.
- Fold the whites and grated cheese into the first mixture. Pour into greased baking dish
- Place baking dish in a shallow pan of water and bake in a 375 degree oven, until puffy
and lightly brown. When done, a knife inserted in middle will come out clean.
- Best when served very hot and puffy. If you let it get cold, it still tastes good but
will not be puffy.
- Serves 4 to 6
