This cookie recipe came over from Sweden with my Great Grandmother Jones and has been passed down for many years. No matter what, I always make the Spritz for Christmas.
4 | Cups | Flour |
3 | Cubes | Butter (do not substitute with margarine) |
2 | Eggs | |
1 | Cup | Sugar |
1/2 | Cup | Almonds (ground in blender or food processer) |
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs and flour gradually. Add nuts last. Run through a cookie press onto lightly greased cookie sheet - forming S & O designs. Bake in 350° - 375° oven for about 8-10 minutes. Cookies should only be golden brown around the outer edges.
YIELD: 4-6 dozen
