Martha Washington Cookies

From the Kitchen of: Sylvia

Beat egg whites with salt until foamy. Gradually add brown sugar and vanilla. Continue beating until stiff peaks are formed. Fold in pecan halves. Drop by teaspoon full onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 250 degree oven for 1 hour. Turn off oven and leave in oven for an additional 1/2 hour. Cool. Yield: about 3 dozen.
NOTE: These need to be stored in an air-tight container.
