Maple Walnut Creams

A wonderful complement to coffee or tea, these frosted cookies are holiday favorites.
Cookies |
1 | Cup | Brown sugar, firmly packed |
1/2 | Cup | Land O Lakes butter, softened |
1/2 | Cup | Sour cream |
1 | Egg | |
1 | Tsp. | Maple flavoring |
2 | Cups | All-purpose flour |
1/2 | Tsp. | Baking powder |
1/2 | Tsp. | Baking soda |
1/2 | Tsp. | SSalt |
1 | Cup | Walnuts, chopped |
Heat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, sour cream,
egg and the maple flavoring. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until
creamy (1 to 2 minutes). Reduce speed to low; add all remaining ingredients (
except the walnuts)and continue until well mixed. Stir in the chopped walnuts.
Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie
sheet. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.

2 | Cups | Powdered sugar |
2 | Tbsp. | Sour cream |
1 | Tbsp. | Maple flavoring |
1-2 | Tbsp. | Milk |

In a small mixer bowl, combine all frosting ingredients except the milk.
Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often and gradually adding enough milk
for desired spreading consistency. Spread frosting on cooled cookies.
