1/3 | Cup | Brown sugar, firmly packed |
1 1/2 | Cups | Bran flakes |
1/2 | Tsp. | Ground cinnamon |
1/4 | Tsp. | Salt |
Arrange the sliced apples in a greased baking dish. Squeeze the juice of the half lemon over them. Cream together the butter or margarine and sugar; add the bran flakes, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Spread this over the apples. Bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 30 minutes, or until apples are tender. Serve warm, with or without cream. Can also be served with any favorite sauce, such as lemon, or orange sauce, currant jelly sauce or a wine sauce.
