The original recipe for Bananas Foster was created at Brennan's Restaurantin New Orleans
4 | tbsp | Butter |
1 | C | Brown Sugar |
1/2 | tsp | Cinnamon |
4 | tbsp | Banana liqueur |
4 | Bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then halved | |
1/4 | C | Rum |
4 | scoops | Vanilla ice cream |
Melt the butter in a flambe pan. Add the sugar, cinnamon and the bananaliqueur and stir to mix. Heat for a few minutes and place the halved bananasin the sauce and saute until soft and slightly browned. Add the rum andallow it to hear well; then tip the pan so that the flame from the burnercauses the sauce to light. Lift the bananas carefully out of the pan andplace four pieces over each portion of ice cream and spoon the hot saucefrom the pan over the top of the ice cream.
