Place apple slices in a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cut butter into one-inch chunks and blend into dry ingregients, using a pastry blender. When crumbly, sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Turn oven down to 350° and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
SERVING IDEAS: Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
