Cherry Christmas Cake

Butter

Vanilla

Sifted flour

Cherry filling
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, beat until light.
Add vanilla and flour and mix til smooth. (Batter is very thick.)
Pour into baking pan. Mark squares with knife. Add cherry filling (3 cherries per square) to top of each square.
Bake 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cook and sprinkle with confectioner sugar.
Pretty when the sugar is sprinkled in rows between cherries. Delish ... not too sweet!
