Sour Milk Ginger Cake

1/4 | cup | butter |
1/2 | cup | sugar |
1 | | egg, well beaten |
1/2 | cup | molasses |
1 2/3 | cups | flour |
1/2 | teaspoon | soda |
1 | teaspoon | baking powder |
1 | teaspoon | ginger |
1/2 | teaspoon | salt |
1/2 | cup | sour milk |
2 | tablespoons | sugar |
1 | teaspoon | cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly, add egg and molasses, blend.
Add next five ingredients, sifted, alternately with milk; beat until smooth.
Pour into 9X13-inch pan and sprinkle top with sugar and cinnamon.
Bake in moderate oven (350°F) for 45 minutes.
Serves about 15 people.
