Red Velvet Cake

My husband loves my Red Velvet Cake
Cake |
1/2 | lb | Butter |
1 1/2 | cups | Sugar |
2 | | Eggs |
1 | tsp | Cocoa |
2 | ozs | Red Food Coloring |
2 | cups | Flour |
1 | cup | Buttermilk |
1/2 | tsp | Salt |
1 | tsp | Vanilla |
1 | tsp | Baking Soda |
1 | tbsp | White Vinegar |
In a bowl, combine, butter , sugar and eggs. Combine the cocoa and red
food coloring
then add to the other mixture. Combine flour, buttermilk, salt, and
vanilla and then add to
the mixture. Dissolve soda in the vinegar and then fold into the batter.
Bake 30 to 35
minutes in a 350 degree oven or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cream Cheese Icing |
8 | oz. pkg | Cream cheese |
1 | stick | Butter or Margarine |
1 | lb. box | Confectioners sugar |
2 | tsp | Vanilla Extract |
Combine all the ingredients and beat to blend. Spread on cake.
