Italian Cream Cake
1	cup	butter or margarine
1/2	cup	shortening
2	cups	sugar
5		eggs, separated
2	cups	flour
1	tsp	baking soda
1	cup	buttermilk
1	cup	chopped nuts
1	can	(3-1/2 oz) flaked coconut
1	tsp	vanilla
1	tsp	coconut flavoring

• Cream butter, shortening, and sugar
• Add egg yolks, one at a time
• Sift flour and baking soda together
• Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk
• Add nuts, coconut flake, vanilla and coconut flavoring
• Fold in beaten egg whites
• Put into 3 greased 9-inch pans
• Bake at 350 deg. F. for 25 minutes

Cream Cheese Icing
1	pkg	(8 oz) cream cheese
1/2	cup	margarine
1	lb	powdered sugar
1	tsp	almond flavoring

Place all ingredients in bowl and cream together to a spreadable consistency. Frost the cake.
