This recipe was written in my Grandmother's cookbook.
Hot Milk Cake | ||

2 | eggs | |
1 | cup | sugar |
1 | cup | flour |
1 | tsp | baking powder |
1/2 | cup | hot milk |
1 | tsp | butter -- melt in the milk |
1/2 | tsp | orange extract |
Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 9x9-inch square pan. Bake the first 15 minutes at 400 deg F, bake remaining 5 minutes at 350 deg. F.
Frosting | ||

1/2 | cup | milk |
6 | tbsp | softened butter |
4 | tbsp | cocoa |
2 | cups | powdered sugar |
1 | tsp | vanilla |
Mix all ingredients in a bowl to a spreadable consistancy. Frost the cake.
