Granny's Applesauce Cake

A good keeper, if it lasts. :-)
1/2 | cup | margarine (not lite margarine...I use butter flavored Crisco) |
2 | cups | sugar |
2 | | eggs |
2 | tsp | vanilla |
2 1/2 | cups | flour |
1 1/2 | tsp | baking soda |
1 | tsp | salt |
1 | tsp | cinnamon |
1 1/2 | tsp | nutmeg |
1/4 | tsp | allspice |
1 1/2 | cups | applesauce |
1/2 | cup | raisins |
1/2 | cup | nuts |
- Cream margarine, sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
- Sift dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture. Add applesauce.
- Beat on high speed 3 minutes. Fold in raisins and nuts.
- Pour into greased and floured bundt pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tests done.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar or a simple powdered sugar, vanilla and milk glaze. Sprinkle extra nuts on glaze, if desired.
- Store covered.
