Dutch Apple Cake
From the Kitchen of: Pepper
2 eggs |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
1-1/2 cups vegetable oil |
3 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 cups chopped apples |
1 cup chopped nuts |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
GLAZE |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 tablespoons margarine |
2 tablespoons milk |
- Preheat over to 350 degrees.
- Beat eggs; add sugars and oil.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add slowly to creamed mixture.
- Add apples, nuts, and vanilla.
- Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour.
- GLAZE:
Mix together brown sugar, margarine, and milk and heat
to boiling. Boil 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat.
Spread over warm cake.
YIELD: 16 servings
