Dark Orange Cake

Put raisins in saucepan with small amount of water and let simmer while preparing rest of cake. This makes the raisins fat and juicy. Blend together, with beater, the wet ingredients- egg, butter, orange cut into pieces, and sour milk.

Gradually mix in brown sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix the flour, baking soda and salt together first. ( Not absolutely necessary but just helps distribute the soda and salt a bit more.) Fold in raisins.

Pour into large greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until done. When an inserted toothpick comes out clean the cake is done.
