1 | cup | Finely Chopped Nuts |
2 | tbsp | Brown Sugar |
2 | tsp | Cinnamon |
1 | pkg | Yellow Cake Mix |
1 | cup | Finely Chopped Nuts |
1 | cup | Apple, (one medium) peeled and finely chopped |
1 | cup | Dairy Sour Cream |
1/3 | cup | Apple Butter |
4 | Eggs | |
2 to 3 | tbsp | Apple Butter |
Using solid shortening or margarine (not oil), grease and flour a 12-cup fluted tube pan (non stick, too). In a small bowl, combine nuts, sugar and cinnamon. In a large bowl, blend all but sugar and apple butter, and beat 12 minutes at highest speed. Pour 3 cups batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with half of nut mixture. Repeat, ending with batter. Bake at 350 degrees (325 for colored fluted tube pan) for 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool upright in pan 15 minutes; turn onto serving plate. Cool completely. In small bowl, blend remaining ingredients until smooth; spoon over cake. Makes a 10-inch ring cake.
