Preheat oven to 450F.
Combine milk, oil, pastry flour and salt. Beat until smooth, then add the eggs one at a time, beating only until batter is smooth.
Fill well-greased muffin or popover tins three-quarters full. Bake 450F for 15 minutes, then lower heat to 350f and bake approximately 20 minutes longer.
Yield: 1 dozen popovers
