Although this bread has raisins in it, it isn't sweet and complements most main courses. Plus it takes only a few minutes to prepare.

2 | tbsp. | white vinegar |
4 | C | all-purpose flour |
1 | tbsp. | baking powder |
1 | tsp. | salt |
1/2 | tsp. | baking soda |
1 | C | raisins |
Combine milk and vinegar and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes to sour. In large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and raisins. Add soured milk and stir until mixed. With large spoon or your hands, shape dough into two round loaves and place on greased baking sheet. Bake in 350F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until light brown. Serve hot cut in thick slices, or cold in thinner slices.
