A Dutch Recipe

A fritter recipe, often made on New Year's.
Yeast Mixture |
1 | envelope | Dry Yeast |
3 | tbsp | Sugar |
1/2 | cup | Warm Water |
Put yeast and sugar in warm water and soak 10 minutes.
Dough |
2 | | Eggs, well beaten |
1/2 | cup | Warm Water |
1/2 | tsp | Vanilla |
1 | tsp | Salt |
4 | cups | Flour |
2 | cups | Seedless Raisins |
3 | | Apples, peeled and diced |
| | Confectioners' Sugar to dust |
Mix together yeast mixture and eggs, water and vanilla and salt, and add
to flour slowly.
Add fruit, let rise 1 1/2 hours. Drop in hot frying oil; dust with
confectioner's sugar
