1-1/2 | C | boiling water |
1 | pkg. | yeast |

2 | C | whole wheat flour |
2 | C | all purpose flour |
Place butter, brown sugar, oatmeal and salt in a large bowl. Pour boiling water over these and let stand until warm, stirring. Add yeast and the egg and stir. Add flour and stir. Let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
On floured board knead 5-10 minutes. Form into two loaves and place in loaf pans. Let rise until double in bulk.
Bake at 375F for about 30-40 minutes.
