3/4 | Cup | Soft margarine or shortening |

1/2 | Cup | Packed brown sugar |

1/2 | Tsp. | Baking soda |
1 | Tsp. | Baking Powder |
1 | Tsp. | Salt |
Soak oats in milk for a few minutes. Mix margarine, sugar and egg together well. Measure dry ingredients. Stir into margarine mixture - alternating with oats and milk. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
VARIATIONS:Add 3/4 cup grated cheese to batter or 1 cup crisp broken bits of bacon, or top with grated apples, small amount of brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
