These are very tender biscuits
1-1/2 | C | flour |
1 | tsp. | baking powder |
1/2 | tsp. | salt |
1/2 | tsp. | baking soda |
1/3 | C | shortening or chicken fat |
1/2 | C plus 2 tbsp. | buttermilk |
Sift dry ingredients together then blend in shortening till crumbly. Stir in buttermilk till just blended. Drop batter by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake at 450F for about 7 or 8 minutes or until brown.
