2 1/4 | tsp | Yeast |
1 7/8 | C | Bread flour |
1 1/2 | C | Rye flour |
1/3 | C | Cracked wheat |
1 1/2 | tbsp | Sugar |
1/2 | tbsp | Salt |
1/2 | tbsp | Caraway seeds |
2 | | Garlic cloves, crushed |
1 | med | Onion, chopped |
1 | lg | Apple, chopped |
3 | tbsp | Butter |
1/2 | C | Water |
- Bring all ingredients to room temperature and pour into bakery, in
order. Set "baking control" at 10 o'clock. Select "white bread" and
push start.
- In hot and humid weather, use 1/8 cup less water.
- This barely sweet, fruity rye tastes good with scrambled eggs or in
a turkey sandwich. For tea sandwiches, slice thin and spread with cream
cheese and toasted sliced almonds.
