Queen's Punch

2 cups strong hot tea
2 cups sugar
2 cups orange juice
1 cup lemon juice
1 cup brandy
1 cup light rum
ice ring
2 (750 ml) bottles champagne, chilled
Combine tea and sugar in a large pitcher, stirring until sugar dissolves; cool.
Add orange juice, lemon juice, brandy, and rum; stir well.
Chill.
Pour tea mixture over ice ring in a punch bowl just before serving.
Slowly add champagne.
Serve immediately.
Yield: about 1 gallon.
Ice Ring:
2 cups orange juice
2 cups club soda
Orange slices, seeded
Fresh mint sprigs
Combine orange juice and club soda; stir.
Arrange orange slices and mint in a 4-cup ring mold.
Gently pour 1/2 cup orange juice mixture into mold.
Freeze.
Pour remaining orange juice mixutre into frozen mold; freeze until ready to use.
Yield: 1 ice ring.
