Orange Lemonade
From the Kitchen of:
Sandy
2 cups sugar
2 1/2 cups water
3 oranges
6 lemons
1/4 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves, opt.
ice
water
In pan, place sugar and stir in 2 1/2 cups water.
Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, cool.
Finely shred enough orange peel to make 2 tablespoons, set aside.
Squeeze juice from oranges and lemons, make about 1 1/2 cups orange juice and 1 1/2 cups lemon juices.
Add juices and peel to cooled syrup. Pour over mint leaves, if desired.
Pour into a jar. Cover with lid and refrigerate.
Fill glasses with ice. Pour equal parts of water and fruit syrup over ice.
Stir to combine.
Makes 6 cups fruit syrup or 12 ozs. servings
