Mediterranean Coffee

Serving Size :12
2 quarts strong hot coffee
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
1/3 cup sugar
4 cinnamon sticks, each about 3 inches long
1-1/2 tsp. whole cloves
1/2 tsp. anise flavoring
peel of one orange, in strips
peel of one lemon, in strips
whipped cream
Combine coffee, chocolate syrup, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and anise in a deep chafing dish or a large carafe with a flame underneath it.
Steep over very low heat for 15 minutes (do not boil).
Serve in small cups or mugs with a twist of lemon peel, a twist of orange peel, and a spoonful of whipped cream in each.
