Turtle Cake

german chocolate cake mix

bag (14 oz.)
caramels
1/2
cup
evaporated milk
3/4
cup
butter
1
cup
chocolate chips
2
cups
chopped pecans or walnuts
Prepare cake mix according to pkg. directions. Pour half the batter in a prepared 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350° for fifteen minutes. Remove from oven.
Melt carmels with evaporated milk and butter, stirring constantly. Pour over first half of cake.
Sprinkle with 1 cups of nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour remaining batter over filling. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Bake an additional 20 minutes at 350°.
